Aeros land at Cardiff

A new flying school is to be opened at Cardiff Airport by flight training and maintenance group Aeros, with the first flight expected to take to the skies on 01 June 2010.

Based at the White Building on the south side of the airport, this project will be Aeros' fifth new business in less than three years, and a welcome addition to Cardiff Airport's operations.

Steve Hodgetts, Cardiff Airport's business development and commercial director commented: "We welcome Aeros to Cardiff Airport and look forward to working with a new partner. This facility has proved popular with local pilots in the past and we hope to see more keen flyers using the new centre in future." 
 
Aeros' operations director Nick Dunn commented: "We are confident that we can deliver a first class GA operation for pilots in South Wales. The facilities at Cardiff are excellent and we are looking forward to commencing activities on 01 June. Local pilots will be able to enjoy the use of Aeros' 25 strong fleet of aircraft including Piper Warriors/Arrows, Cessna 152's and Robins. The fleet are maintained at Aeros' Part 145 and Part M sub part G&I approved facility at Gloucestershire Airport (Staverton) ensuring any technical issues are resolved promptly".

Aeros already provide training and self fly hire at Gloucestershire Airport, Bristol Filton and Wellesbourne Mountford (Warwickshire). With this growing network Aeros are able to offer a comprehensive range of licences and ratings from PPL for private flyers to multi instrument (MEIR) for those who wish to follow a career as a commercial airline pilot.
