Airport scheme just the job
Published: 17 January 2011
Cardiff Airport and its partner companies are offering employees a taste of different aspects of the business through a ‘job-swap’ scheme.
The aim of the project is to take advantage of the quieter winter season by giving staff from various departments an insight into how different partners working under the ‘Cardiff Airport’ umbrella operate from day to day. The project will give those involved knowledge and understanding of other companies on site, which will strengthen relationships, interaction and internal communications.
The companies involved in this year’s scheme include:
- Cardiff Airport (Customer Service Agents)
- Servisair (Passenger Services, Operations, Ticket desk and Ramp)
- NATS (Air Traffic operations, Tower and Radar)
- Northair (Air BP) (Fuel farm areas and Refuelling aircraft)
- MITIE (Special assistance and Cleaning operations)
Margaret James, Cardiff Airport’s contracts and quality manager said of the scheme: “This is an excellent initiative as it gives staff from different parts of the business an understanding of the demands of different roles within the airport.
Often passengers are not aware of the many different service partners who work together to provide their experience as they travel through the airport. This scheme will improve team working skills and build on the common goals we share in improving the service offered to our passengers.”
