Busy Bank Holiday ahead at Airport
Published: 26 August 2010
Cardiff Airport is expecting approximately 25,000 passengers through its doors over the August Bank Holiday weekend, from Friday to Monday, as passengers head off before the school summer holidays come to an end.
Popular destinations include city and short breaks such as Paris, Edinburgh, Amsterdam, Dublin and Jersey. Others will also take advantage of post school holidays prices by going away for longer periods in search of the sun to countries including Egypt, Tunisia and Malta.
Kerry Quinn, Cardiff Airport's operations director commented: "We're looking forward to a busy weekend over the bank holiday, and with the miserable weather we've been experiencing in the UK we're expecting even more to grab last minute deals and head off to sunnier climates at the end of the school holidays.
"We're asking all passengers to work with us when travelling through the airport by allowing plenty of time for travel, checking in and security checks, and to keep security regulations such as carrying liquids in your hand luggage in mind to ensure the operation runs smoothly and travellers get to their flight on time."
