Busy Bank Holiday ahead at Airport

Cardiff Airport is expecting over 31,000 passengers through its doors over the August Bank Holiday weekend, from Friday to Tuesday, as passengers head off on a last minute break before the school summer holidays come to an end.
Over 170 aircraft movements are expected, and the most popular destinations will be the Balearic Islands, Turkey, Greece and the Canaries, with city breaks including Dublin, Zurich and Paris also proving popular with Welsh passengers.
A number of passengers will be heading to Amsterdam over the weekend, with a large percentage connecting with other flights onwards to one of the 900 destinations available on the KLM Air France route network.
Margaret James, Cardiff Airport’s Contracts and Quality Manager commented: “We’re looking forward to a busy weekend over the bank holiday, and all necessary preparations are in place to deal with the additional numbers.
“We’re asking all passengers to be mindful of airport processes and to allow plenty of time for checking in and security checks, and to keep security regulations such as carrying liquids in your hand luggage in mind to ensure the operation runs smoothly and travellers get to their flight on time.”
