Cardiff Airport is committed to supporting the charity sector in Wales and as such is open to supporting all charities which apply to the airport, are aligned to airport objectives and guiding principles.
Preference will be given to those charities which fit the following criteria;
- The Charity must be registered with the Charity Commission of England and Wales
- The Charity must be based in Wales and supporting the Welsh community
- The Charity must not receive funding from Government bodies
- An airport employee has a close connection with the charity
- The Charity must be proactive in utilising the airport support
- The Charity must agree to promote the airport through joint PR opportunities
As an airport supported charity the following opportunities will be available, plus any others agreed with the airport in advance;
- Collecting tins and foreign currency donations
- Collection staff at key specified events during the year e.g. 6 Nations Airlift, Ryder Cup - these will be in landside locations
- Access to airport passengers for fundraising/ profile raising
- Access to airport and airport partner staff for fundraising/ profile raising/ volunteering
- Opportunity to offer payroll giving
- Opportunity to raise money through recycling IT consumables
- Selling of merchandise on site at CWL
- Access to possible auction/ raffle 'prizes' from the airport or airport partners
- Communication of national events/ fundraising initiatives
More strategic support can be considered where both the charity and airports objectives can be achieved.
Application
To apply a charity must send in writing a proposed activity plan detailing how they wish to utilise airport support for the good of the charity.
It will be the responsibility of the charity to instigate these activities

- Evidence of charitable status
